Greenhouse Theater Center is opening up its 2017/2018 season with Artistic Director Jacob Harvey and Elizabeth Margolius’ bold re-imagining of Sophie Treadwell’s most celebrated play, MACHINAL. This production is inspired by the surreal life and trials of famed murderess Ruth Snyder. One young woman must break out of the unhappy life and marriage she is trapped in, but there is no telling how far her fight for freedom will take her.
Join Greenhouse Theater Center for this exciting reimagining of MACHINAL, which is being presented through an educational partnership with North Central College. Through this partnership, students are given the opportunity to understudy professional actors, as well as work on all facets of the production (design included). The goal is to assist students in their professional careers in the Chicago theatre community by extending their education beyond the traditional classroom work.
